Outside of her writing career, Rayleigh married her high school sweetheart –a U.S. She has written 3 books over the course of her teens, and is in the process of polishing them and deciding which will be her debut release. She has judged writing contests for publishers, interned for Hartline Literary Agency, and has given social media marketing classes for authors. She has spent the last 8 years reviewing books of all genres and 2 years ago was awarded the Vine Voice badge on Amazon, which verifies her as a Top Amazon Reviewer–her goal is to rank in the Top 1000 Reviewers on Amazon within the next 2 years! Inside the world of literature, Rayleigh is the Associate Editor for PURSUE Magazine. Rayleigh is a small town, Texas girl who has only a slight addiction to books *wink*. I easily give this book 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it especially to teachers! Goodreads | Amazon |barnes & noble (not avail.) | litsy (not avail.) Rated: They’re easy to understand and encourage thinking and talking amongst the listeners. The discussion questions at the end make this a perfect book to add to school libraries. They have such genuine hearts in helping others and making sure that they are doing their best to include others as well. The illustrations are simple but convey the messages very well, the story flows excellently, and I love Carlo and Marco. This particular book is my favorite of the two. What starts out as a prank from his classmates turns into a new realization for Carlo as he notices how he and his friends have made someone else feel invisible. In The Invisible Boy, Carlo and Marco return from the first book to learn a new lesson about excluding others. I love Mary’s tact in how she approaches this topic and handles it with such a young audience.

And with it being Bullying Awareness Month, it’s only suiting that we review the second book during October!

Both Big and Small in the Mirror and The Invisible Boy are parts of a bully-awareness series for elementary children.
